2011 Mazda 6
[ Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 | by automotiveroom | under CAR, Mazda ]Mazda has released the first 2011 Mazda6 facelift images and details and announced that the new version will be premiered at the Geneva auto show in March. As far as the exterior design goes, the 2011 Mazda6 facelift features new headlights and rear light clusters. The 2011 Mazda6 facelift also comes with new chassis settings, adaptive front lighting and hill-launch assist.
Hill starts are easy with Mazda 6 facelift’s new HLA system. When a driver stops on hill, the system automatically calculates the gradient of the hill using the acceleration sensor in the airbag unit. If the grade is 2° or steeper, it keeps the brakes applied when the driver releases the brake pedal to prevent the car from rolling backwards downhill. When the driver lets off the brake pedal and presses the gas pedal again, the brake-control functionality of the DSC system holds the car steady until there is enough engine torque to move the car safely up the slope.
The engine line-up of the 2011 Mazda6 facelift features six engines including a new and more efficient 2.0-litre DISI petrol unit. This new engine is coupled with a Its five-speed automatic transmission. The 2011 Mazda6 facelift also offers updated versions of the MZR 1.8 and 2.5-litre engines while the MZR-CD 2.2-litre turbo diesel unit is offered in three power levels, from 129 to 180 PS.
