2011 Ford Transit Connect Taxi

The Transit Connect Taxi, combined with an engine modified by Ford with its standard 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine and automatic transmission, has resulted in a vehicle which is able to take an advantage to use clean-burning compressed natural gas (CNG) or propane (LPG). The option of the new alternative fuel usage is aimed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as to lower the cost of ownership for taxi operators.
The Transit Connect Taxi offers an improved interior package for people and cargo by moving back the vehicle’s rear seat 3 inches with 6.5 inches of ground clearance, and adding additional climate control ventilation. Moreover, the Transit Connect Taxi also features a wiring upfit package with a hole in the roof for signage.
The Ford Transit Connect Taxi will go into production and arrive in dealerships later this year as a 2011 model.
