The 2011 will use a 1.6-litre Gamma engine with direct fuel injection which produces 140 PS and which will spin the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

The engine delivers 140 hp and a maximum torque of 17.0kg•m. The engine is with 10 percent more fuel efficient that its closest competitors. Avante / Elantra uses advanced features which are not found on other compact cars, such as HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlamps, LED combination lamps in the rear, heated rear seats, puddle lamps and a color TFT LCD information display nestled in the gauge cluster.
